I've never had cause to go there.
I use the Crusty Loaf and get the occasional paper / pint of milk at CostCutter.
Southampton Way has the nearest convenience shops to me. I buy milk, bread, newspapers from the shops there but go to bigger supermarkets for most items.
Peckham shopping centre is just up the road from my property
Rude shopkeepers, dirt and intimidating shops
Really need a greater range of choice. Organic fruit, veg and butchers or just one that had fresh and not mouldy produce would mean that I don't have to shop in Islington on my way home from work or arrange to have things delivered due to the lack of a car.
It's a mess. The Turkish and Caribbean shops are very exclusive (not in the posh sense!). They're grubby and some of them are clearly fronts for drug dealers. But when was the last time anyone saw a bobby on the beat on Southampton Way? So they thrive.
Shops and clubs that encourage people to just 'hang around' outside drinking.
Lack of fresh fruit and vegetables
Lack of quality basics like organic milk and eggs, and we could really do with a greengrocer and proper butcher (not one of those frozen meat places like in central Peckham!), I think these would thrive on Southampton Way.
